AECP – With A Twist

My Altenew Educator training continues with a course titled With A Twist. My card is inspired by the class unit called Cutting it Oddly and was a wedding card for a dear friend.  My card embraces an “oddly” cut card front to change things up.  You can cut your card front any way you like for the visual interest you desire.

In my video (first one I’ve done) I have shared an easy embossed card  and many helpful tips.  As with all my cards I hope I will provide inspiration to you and spark excitement to use the supplies you have on hand or to use those I have used.

Here is the card from my video along with the main products featured. For the full supply list, scroll down to the thumbnails at the end of this post.

Easy Embossing & Cutting It Oddly
Size: 5″ x 5″ Card Base / 4.75″ x 4.75″ Pink Cardstock

Card Base is made from Neenah 110 lb. Classic Crest Card Stock and is 10″x5″ and scored at 5″

I embossed dahlias onto the pink cardstock with white embossing powder for a stunning bright white contrast.  The pink cardstock was then cut on a diagonal and glued to the card base.  The card base was then cut along the same diagonal.  Pink card stock was then added to the inside back panel of the card base and I fussy cut the dahlia that I cut off the pink panel and glued that to the card.

Next I cut a beautiful scalloped edge and glued that to the card front along the diagonal cut for a stunning look.  I cut three (3) Love sentiments out and stacked and glued them together to give added dimension to the sentiment and then attached it to the card front.  To complete the card I added iridescent bubbles in various spots on the card front for that wow factor.

Featuring:

• Altenew Dahlia Blooms Stamp Set
• Altenew Creative Edges: Lace Die
• VersaMark Clear Embossing Ink
• Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder
• Studio Katia Iridescent Bubbles
• Bazzill Basics Cardstock
• Additional supplies linked in the thumbnails at the end of this post.

As always, I hope you will give this technique a try and I hope my blog will provide inspiration to you and spark excitement and joy in your life and those you create for.

Until next time…Happy Crafting!!
